BBL 2019-20

Australia’s premier T20 tournament, BBL 2019-20, has kicked off. It is time that we take a sneak peek of 5 exciting young uncapped talents to watch out for this extravaganza.

Max Bryant (Brisbane Heat)

This dashing top-order batsman of Brisbane Heat is termed as future of Australian Cricket. He has been around for a couple of years now with Brisbane Heat set up. He had a decent Marsh Cup recently for Queensland. Last year, He was consistently scoring at 150+ SR. Bryant can be the perfect foil for the likes of Lynn, Banton and ABD in batting-friendly Gabba conditions.

Chris Green (Sydney Thunder)

Many believe, Chris Green was on verge of Australia call up on multiple occasions last season. His control as an off-spinner has improved considerably and as a result, He is the trump card in middle overs that T20 teams across the globe wants. He had excellent seasons with Guyana Amazon Warriors and Toronto Nationals at CPL and GLT20 this year. He is named captain for Birmingham Bears for next English Summer. He has signed the longest deal with Sydney Thunder in history of BBL. Least to say, Green will be the one to watch for Thunders.

Matt Kelly (Perth Scorchers)

This upcoming Superstar of Australian Fast bowling is set to have a breakout season with Perth this year. He bowls at 145 clips consistently and does have a very good Yorker. He is coming off a very good run for Western Australia in Sheffield Shield this season. He will be trying to make his name in line for Australia call up as next year’s WC looms.

Riley Meredith (Hobart Hurricanes)

Another product from Australia’s rich fast bowling stocks is Tasmanian Riley Meredith. He is regarded as a future talent right from his Tasmania U19 days. He can consistently bowl at 140+ and developing his ‘change of pace’ as a lethal weapon in limited-overs cricket. He is among the wickets in first few rounds of this year’s Sheffield Shield. Hobart will be looking at him for their go-to bowler whenever they would be in need of breakthroughs.

Josh Phillipe (Sydney Sixers)

This 20-year-old sensation from Western Australia is making his name in Domestic circuit. Right-handed wicket-keeper batsman who can bat at top of the order is invaluable in T20s. Also, coming off fresh from his List A outings in Marsh Cup, He is potentially Gun player that Sydney Sixers will build their hopes on this season.
