Kings XI Punjab pacer Andrew Tye revealed the pros and cons of playing in a T20 tournament.
Australian speedster said in an interview that it is best to keep ego aside while bowling in the T20 format because, in this format, even the best can be taken to cleaners on a regular basis.
“I bowl to Chris in the nets and it is challenging enough,” said Tye.
“You should not take things personally in the tournament. You will get hit for a six and you just can’t let your emotions take hold of you. You are always at risk of getting hammered, such is the nature of the format,” he added.
The Perth-born cricketer said that a bowler is ‘never out of danger’ in the shortest format.
“There are certain players who can surprise you with their performance and then there are some who are so good that them out is a very difficult task. There is always a challenge.”
The pacer has already taken 12 wickets for KXIP in the tournament so far and is building on the success of last year when he took three hat-tricks – two in BBL and one on IPL debut for Gujarat Lions.
