One of the greatest match-winner of Team India, Yuvraj Singh turns 38 today. Born in Chandigarh in 1981, Yuvraj made his India debut in 2000 against Kenya in Knock-out trophy. Yuvraj announced himself onto the world stage in the second ODI itself, scoring 84 runs from 80 balls against the world champions Australia consisting of Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie and Glen McGrath in the quarter-final of ICC Knock-out Trophy in 2000 in Kenya.

Illustrious career
Yuvraj was part of winning the 2000 U-19 World Cup, 2007 T20 World Cup, and 2011 ODI World Cup. He is the only player to take 5 wickets and score 50 in the same World Cup match, fastest to score a fifty in T20 International, 12 ball-fifty against England in 2007 T20 World Cup and in the same match he hit six sixes in a single over against Stuart Broad.
He was instrumental in India’s ODI world Triumph after 28 years in 2011, he scored 362 runs and picked 15 wickets in the tournament held in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Yuvraj Singh played 40 tests, 304 ODI and 58 T20I for India. He is known for his effortless six-hitting ability, cover drives, cuts through backwards-point and beautiful free-flowing elegance of left-handers.

In 2011, Yuvraj was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his left lung then he made comebacks into International cricket but everyone missed old swashbuckling batsman which he was till 2011. He retired from International cricket in 2019. He also started a foundation for cancer awareness named as ” YOUWECAN “.
Yuvraj is enjoying the life post-retirement with some franchise league cricket outside India with Canada T20 and T10 league in UAE.
