The 2019-20 UEFA Champions League reaches half-stage with matchday 3 with matches set to be played across Europe on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Record winners Real Madrid are also in action this week as they hit the road to take on Turkish giants Galatasaray at Türk Telekom Arena.

Galatasaray have made an unrealistic start in the domestic campaign as they sit outside top-four in Super Lig. While the 3-2 win over Sivasspor at the weekend was their first three points in four league games.

While in the Champions League, Galatasaray are without having drawn the first game and losing the last against PSG.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, suffered a shocking result in La Liga last weekend after suffering a 1-0 win at RCD Mallorca. The worse was Barcelona usurped them from the top following a 0-3 win at Eibar.

The Champions League match will be played between Galatasaray and Real Madrid at Türk Telekom Arena, in Istanbul, Turkey. The ground has a capacity of 52,223.
The game will start at 12:30 AM (IST), on Wednesday, October 23.

Galatasaray Team News:

Fatih Terim has to deal with a number of injury problems ahead of the clash against Real Madrid. Midfielder Emre Akbaba has been ruled out due to a knee injury.

Summer arrival Radamel Falcao is racing against time to be fit for the clash against Madrid and so is Mario Lemina (hamstring).

In addition, Sofiane Feghouli is certain to miss the match through a knee injury.

Real Madrid FC Team News:

Zinedine Zidane has some real issues ahead of the game against Galatasary which he and his team can’t afford to lose.

Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Luka Modric, Nacho and Lucas Hernandez all have been ruled out from this game due to their respective injuries.


Fitness boost:

Eden Hazard and Tony Kroos are both back with the squad, alongwith Dani Carvajal. All three of the aforementioned players missed Real’s 1-0 away defeat at RCD Mallorca.

Ferland Mendy has also travelled to Turkey with the squad and will be pushing Marcelo for a place at left-back. The 24-year-old has been recovering from a thigh injury which kept him out of the action for nearly a month.

Thibaut Courtois’ woes in goals are not going away. Zidane may go with Areola as a result.


Likely changes:

Dani Carvajal should replace Alvaro Odriozola on the right flank, with Mendy getting the nod ahead of Marcelo at left-back.

Tony Kroos is also available and will walk straight into the playing 11, with Casemiro the other player in the midfield. Federico Valverde fights with Isco for the remaining spot in the midfield.

Varane will partner Ramos at the back following a rest at the weekend.
