Daniel Vettori made a valid point in the press conference ahead of an encounter against Kings XI Punjab.
Talking about the biggest challenge ahead of them, he said, “I sincerely hope that no one is carrying the baggage from last year.”
Notably, the Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach referred to their abysmal win-loss tally at home in last season where they had won only one match and lost 5 matches whereas 1 ended in no result.
Although, RCB has overhauled the entire team that cannot assure success. However, a positive take away from this season is that they have a fit Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, unlike last time when were recovering from injuries in the beginning of the season.
They have made a conscious effort to address the lopsidedness of their line-up by roping in a few power-hitters and efficient bowlers.
Royal Challenger Bangalore would look forward to starting afresh after losing their last match to Kolkata Knight Riders as they head to play two home games in next four days.
On the other hand, their competitors Kings XI Punjab have got a promising start in the tournament after registering a victory against Delhi Daredevils.
They have Chris Gayle by their side who is quite familiar with the pitch conditions and Ashwin who might bowl some effective spells.
With KL Rahul and Karun Nair in impressive form and Mayank Agarwal’s recent domestic record, Kings XI may just seem unconquerable.
