Haryana currently resides at the fifth spot in the Elite, Cross Pool with 10 points on board.

They’re currently level on points with Delhi,  Chattisgarh, and Hyderabad while being two points away from Karnataka who is at the top.

Haryana’s most recent game was against Punjab which turned out to be an exceptionally low scoring affair.

Batting first Haryana was bundled out for a meagre score of 49. However, Ajit Chahal and Harshal Patel made life difficult for Punjab’s batsmen and picked up seven wickets in the progress.

Ankit Kumar and Nitin Saini will be expected to turn up against Vidarbha as they open the innings.

Though Chandila got out on a duck against Punjab. The match prior to that the middle-order batsman scored a well-constructed knock of 48 versus Baroda.

Sumit Kumar at lower middle order will have to step up as he did against Baroda. Kumar scored 58 in that game.

Amit Mishra and Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t bowl in the last game. However, Mishra picked three, while Chahal picked one in their win against Baroda.  But it was the pacer, Sumit Kumar had outdone everyone with a fifer to his name against Baroda.

Vidarbha’s most recent game in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was a seven wickets defeat to Punjab.

However, their first three games against Baroda, Delhi, and Maharashtra were all abandoned without a ball being bowled. Which is why Vidarbha finds itself at the 15th spot in the table with six points on board.

In the previous game against Punjab, while batting first Vidarbha could only manage to compile a score of 155 for all ten wickets.

The experienced candidate, Faiz Fazal put on a good performance up front with a well made 72. But, other batsmen such as Jitesh Sharma, Atharva Taide, and even Wasim Jaffer didn’t have much to offer.

Rushabh Rathod did contribute at the lower order but it wasn’t enough for Vidarbha.

In terms of bowling, it was the spin duo of Akshay Wakhare and Akshay Karenwar who were the only ones amongst the wickets. Wakhare picked two while giving 29 runs in his 10, while Karenwar picked one wicket for just 13 runs in his 10 overs spell.

Shrikant Wagh, Yash Thakur, and Atharva Taide went wicketless.

Faiz Fazal and Wasim Jaffer are two of the most reliable batsmen in first-class cricket. Vidarbha will be banking on the duo against Haryana. Fazal in his 117 first-class matches has scored 7888 runs with an average of 41.29.

The veteran, Wasim Jaffer has scored a staggering 19147 runs in 253 first-class games with an average of 51.19

For Haryana, the spin trio of Amit Mishra, Yuzvebdra Chahal, and Jayant Yadav can make a difference. Mishra has scalped 535 wickets in 152 games, while right-arm off-break, Jayant Yadav has 153 wickets in 59 first-class games.

One of India’s front line wrist-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal has played 31 first-class games for his 84 wickets.
