VHT ODD: TN star set to return for clash against Bihar

Tamil Nadu team which is already going great guns in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy will be stronger as their star player and vice-captain Vijay Shankar is set to return and will be available for the match against Bihar to be played on Saturday at Jaipur.
Vijay recovering from thumb injury
The young all-rounder had injured his thumb and it had kept him away from the action for a long time. He had injured his thumb in the match against South Africa A while representing India A.
Since then he hasn’t played any competitive cricket and couldn’t feature in the remaining matches of India A. Shankar also missed out on the first two games of Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare trophy but now he is set to make a comeback.
Tamil Nadu in strong form
The Dinesh Karthik-led Tamil Nadu have performed well in the tournament so far. They have played two matches and have won both of them courtesy of a strong show from skipper Karthik who has scored 52* and 95 in the two outings.
Meanwhile Bihar has had a disappointing start to the tournament so far and they are currently at the bottom of the table in Group C. They have played one match and lost it by a huge margin.
Tamil Nadu squad for Vijay Hazare TrophyÂ
The team of Tamil Nadu already features plenty of big names and now Vijay Shankar’s addition strengthens their squad. Shankar is a solid batsman in the middle-order and has the ability to change gears whenever needed. At the same time, he is an effective medium-pace bowler who can tie up runs and also produce wickets.
