Ranveer Injured! This star will perform at IPL 2018 opening ceremony…

The IPL thrill will kick off again in April. India’s cricket bonanza will begin on 7th April with current champion Mumbai Indians locking horns with Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Well, the eleventh edition of IPL will not only entertain us with just cricket, the star-studded performances of Bollywood biggies are also on the platter. The stage is set for Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Tamannah Bhatia to rock it with their special performances. Moreover, the IPL 2011 opening ceremony also had a grand finale act of Ranveer Singh.

But, unfortunately, the actor has to miss it out due to a shoulder injury. As per Ranveer’s spokesperson-

“After multiple medical check-ups, the doctors have strongly advised Ranveer Singh to not perform at this year’s IPL opening ceremony in which he was doing the grand finale act.”

However, as IPL never disappoints its viewers, fresh reports indicate that Bollywood’s Greek God- Hrithik Roshan will fill in Ranveer’s void. Yes, after Ranveer’s last minute exit, IPL organizers approached Hrithik Roshan. And, the Dhoom 2 actor accepted the proposal with open arms.

Here’s what he said –

“Yes I can officially confirm that I will be performing for the opening ceremony of IPL. I have already started rehearsing for it. It will be fun to perform in front of a live audience once again.”

Hrithik has started his rehearsals for the finale act with Shiamak Davar and will be performing to a medley of his own songs. Hrithik has also performed for the opening ceremony of IPL 2015.

The Indian Premier League 2018 opening ceremony will be held on April 7 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
