Wrestlemania is the night the WWE goes all out to put on one of the best show of the year. It’s called the ‘Grandest stage of all’ for a reason. The night, the event is filled with moments that will be remembered for generations to come. With Wrestlemania 34 just around the corner let’s take a look at the 5 most epic moments from Wrestlemania over the years.

#5 Edge Spears Jeff Hardy at Wrestlemania 17

This is regarded as one of the most remarkable spots in wrestling history. This math took place during the extreme hardcore period of the WWE and this spot lives up to the name.

It was a ladder match between Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The spot happened when in an attempt to grab the belts, Jeff was left dangling from them as the ladder was taken out from under him. Edge then climbed a ladder and almost reaching the top he leaped off and speared Hardy to the canvas below.

This was a heart-stopping moment for the fans in attendance.

#4 Macho Man and Elizabeth Reunite at Wrestlemania 7

This moment left the fans in tears of joy. The match saw Macho face the Ultimate Warrior in a retirement match. The match was fast paced and hard hitting as expected by the two legends. But what was not expected was the ending.

Macho Man lost and was now fired, his valet “Queen” Sherri started screaming and beating him. This lead to a huge surprise as Macho Man’s estranged wife, Miss Elizabeth appeared from the crowd, entered the ring and threw out Sherri.

The two reconciled, showing that even though Macho Man may have lost the way he made his living, he regained his reason for living. This brought all the fans to tears.

#3 Daniel Bryan finally Wins at Wrestlemania 30

One of the best underdog stories the WWE has crafted with an undersized, slightly weird looking, vegan, in possession of a calm, technical wrestling style named Daniel Bryan.

The perfect story started with Bryan facing off against The Authority. For months, Stephanie and Triple H did everything in their control to beat down and demoralize Bryan but to no avail. At Wrestlemania 30 Bryan was facing Triple H to open the show with the winner heading into the WWE World Heavyweight Title match against Randy Orton vs. Batista in a triple threat match.

The explosion of approval by the fans when Bryan got Batista into the Yes Lock, forcing him to tap out was monumental.

#2 Shawn Michaels Retires Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24

Arguably one of, if not the most emotional moment in Wrestlemania history. A 59-year-old legend Ric Flair facing off against the ‘Heartbreak Kid’. The part that makes this even more emotional is that for Shawn, Ric was his boyhood hero and adulthood friend.

After an intense 20 minute match, the end was clear. With tears in both men’s eyes, Shawn was ready with the final blow. A staggering Ric getting to his feet showing his love for the sport and unbreakable will. Shawn uttering “I’m sorry. I love you.” Then hitting Flair with Sweet Chin Music for the win.

After the match, it was visible how much of an emotional toll this match took on both wrestlers.

#1 Brock Lesnar Breaks the Undefeated Streak at Wrestlemania 30

The moment that left the entire crowd stunned. Matter of fact, stunned is perhaps an understatement. Every soul watching the match either in the audience or at home live had just witnessed something that had never happened before. Lesnar, serving as the “one in 21-1,”. The Undertaker finally lost at Wrestlemania.
