LYN vs MOT Dream11 Match Preview, Team News, Lineups
Montpellier will be looking for their 1st win of the new campaign when they host Olympique Lyon in the Ligue 1 action at Stade de la Mosson.
Despite selling their captain fantastic Nabil Fekir to Real Betis, and midfield maestro Tanguy Ndombele to Tottenham Hotspur this transfer window, Lyon have started the new season with a bang, winning and scoring a lot of goals.
The Les Gones hammered Angers by 6-0 last week, preceded by an equally impressive performance away to Monaco, beating the 2016-17 Ligue 1 champions 0-3 at Stade Louis III.
That’s why it’s game on for the hosts Montpellier who face Lyon perhaps at the wrong time. For their uncanny start to the season, coupled with the visitors’ fantastic one, makes this a difficult game for Michel Der Zakarian and his men.

Montpellier Team News:
- Téji Savanier is likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a horrible injury during pre-season.
- In addition, the hosts will also miss the services of Florent Mollet and Junior Sambia. The duo is yet to feature for the team this season.
Possible INs and OUTs of this game:
- Considering this is a home game for Montpellier, Michel Der Zakarian is expected to be more proactive in his approach.
- We may see some changes in the playing 11 from the last game. Keagan Dolly is more adventurous than Mihailo Ristić and could start the game against Lyon.
Montpellier Probable XI:
Rulli (GK), Daniel Congre, Hilton, Mendes, Oyongo, Le Tallec, Ristic / Keagan Dolly, Ferri, Souquet, Delort, Labode
Lyon FC Team News:
- Rafael remains the only injury absentee for Lyon at the moment.
- That said, centre-back Fernando Marcal is a doubt and will be assessed before the game.
Possible ins or outs of this game:
- Leo Dubois has more than justified his place at the right-back and will once again start the game on the right side of defence as Rafael remains unavailable.
- While Joachim Andersen and Jason Denayer will start unopposed in the heart of the defence.
- Manager Sylvinho has no reasons whatsoever to flirt with his winning combination ahead of a trip to Montpellier.
Lyon Probable XI:
Lopes (GK), Dubois, Anderson, Denayer, Kone, Mendes, Tousart, Aouar, Traore, Dembele, Depay
Likely to score:
- For Montpellier: Andy Delort, Gaëtan Laborde
- For Lyon:Â Memphis Depay, Moussa Dembele
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Memphis Depay: Transformed! Unlocking his true potential. The Dutchman hit a bottomless chasm of sorts at Old Trafford, then made a switch to Ligue 1 and, the rest is the history.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation of sorts in Lyon. He has started the new season with three goals in just two games. More to come.
This season:
- Games: 02
- Goals: 03
- Assists: 01
Moussa Dembele: Another gem of a player on Lyon’s roster. The 23-year-old is one of the many players exploding to the scenes at this club. Two of the stars have left already this summer, but the club is still rich in talent, and it’s all because of their famous academy.
This season:
- Games: 02
- Goals: 03
Houssem Aouar: Young and shining. Stocked with talent, and if nurtured properly, the sky is the limit.
The 21-year-old is still learning his trade to some degrees but can give any experienced leg a run for its money.
Won the man-of-the-match in the last game for his all-round display against Angers.
Last game:
- Goals: 01
- Assists: 02
Andy Delort: The 27-year-old Algerian topped the goal scoring charts for Montpellier last season, and is already up and running for the current season after finding the back of the net last weekend.
Last season:
- Games: 36
- Goals: 14
- Assists: 07
Gaetan Laborde: Set-up Delort in the last game. He is the team’s no-10 and wears the shirt on merit as he is one of the most creative players in this team. Watch out for his defence piercing passing.
Strength:
- Passing
- Through balls
- Drifts back into the midfield
