A better season is expected from the former Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, who himself needed this chance to redeem himself of the mess he seemed to have created at Real Madrid.

Adrià Pedrosa failed to shake off his injury problem in time to feature in manager David Gallego’s matchday squad. The 21-year-old joins Pablo Piatti and David Lopez on the sidelines.
Didac Vila is now expected to start at left-back in the absence of Adria Pedrosa.
Naldo and Luis Lopez should reprise their central defensive roles, with Javi Lopez starting at right-back.
Wu Lei is expected to be given a start following his impressive display last season. The Chinese should start alongside Facundo Ferreyra in the attack.

Sevilla:

Ever Banega is suspended for Sevilla following his yellow card in the last league game of the 2018-19 campaign.
New summer signings Luuk de Jong and Lucas Ocampos should start, while new defensive arrivals Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde will fight to partner Daniel Carrico at center-back.

Lucas Ocampos: Following the less than impressive 2018-19 season, Sevilla dug deep into the transfer for the fresh blood with Lucas Ocampos being one of the new arrivals.

The 25-year-old is a very wily customer, often drifting back into the midfield to dictate things. He has goals in him as well.
